Schonbrunn Palace was extraordinary, the Metro was fast, clean & efficient, beautiful parks, magnificent architecture. For the best schnitzel in town check out Plachuttas in Neuer Markt. The chamber music concert in St Peter's Church was also wonderful, I recommend you book a concert here if you love classical music. Vienna is so beautiful, I will definitely be back. We stayed for 3 nighs which I think it was jusr right. The Danube canal and the Catamaran to Bratislava is worth using. Very interesting samples of Art Nouveu and Secessionism architectural styles. The Otto Wagner twin station buildings are very interesting but need a bit of rennovation. The Secesson building is a brilliant example of Vienna architectural styles of the 1900. The Hundertwasser houses are exceptional and quite different from everything else in Vienna. Worth visiting. There are many museums to visit, but simply walking around the city itself is such a treat (and I imagine this would be true in all seasons). I was there in the summer. There are great meals, drinks and coffee to be enjoyed. I walked mostly, yet transportation is excellent. Vienna is also a great location to add on to other European cities you might be traveling to. Beautiful, clean, safe city with friendly people – but not very dog-friendly Vienna really impressed us with its cleanliness and well-maintained appearance. The city feels very safe and well-organized. Everywhere we went, people were kind, polite, and open to conversation – it gave the city a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I especially appreciated how traffic is managed: there are speed cameras throughout the city, which keep drivers in check and make walking around feel safer. For such a large city, weekend parking was surprisingly manageable – definitely a bonus. One downside for us as dog owners: Vienna is unfortunately not very dog-friendly. Dogs aren’t allowed in many places, especially public indoor areas, which made it a bit tricky to explore freely. That said, I do understand the need to protect historic sites and keep everything clean. Still, Vienna left a very positive impression overall and is absolutely worth visiting!
